Hope you didn't take my comment(s) as challenging your knowledge or that of your mentors--not at all how I intended it.
Just trying to make the point that many people are under the misconception that the general rule is that as long as the male is smaller, then everything is fine. That is certainly NOT the case. You never know when a small male is a throwback and comes from a line of larger dogs.
But, unfortunately, you see that advice given on here all the time. "You need to make sure that you find a female larger than your male." Fact is, there is much more to it than that. Never know when someone is going to assume that is all it takes and make a tragic misjudgment.
