I personally feel like a yorkie puppy is much better fit for it's new home after 12 weeks, they are more confident and better socialized. And have already began potty training in many cases Making it easier for them to adapt.

As far as shipping, I would try to avoid it if you can find a good breeder in your area that is much better. You want to talk to the breeder and develop a relationship with them. You may end up calling them many times as the puppy grows with questions and for advice, It is nice to have a breeder that you can trust and is willing help you if needed. The YTCA has a breeder contact list and that is a wonderful place to start. There are 11 breeders listed for Calif and 7 for OR. I am sure that you will be able to find your perfect puppy within driving distance. Plus then you will have about 300 extra that you didn't spend on shipping and can use to start spoilling your new baby
Thanks for the info I hope I can find a puppy!
