When you feel of the dew claw it sort of feels like a little bb. If you just cut the top part off where the nail is, the nail will grow back. You have to get to the root of the dew claw to remove all of it and when you do you will see it looks like a little round seed. If you cut at the base of the dew claw and pull it comes right out in one quick motion.
