I have done so much genetic reading, and looking at pedigree's that its hard to find what you want, but once you do then you will pay a good penny for that puppy. Genetics is a huge part of finding what you want. I suggest that if your interested in breeding look for great line, and then see what the sire's genetic traits are as well as the dam. You also should go back at least 3-5 generations to get a good idea of what you will be getting. |
That's why you go to the reputable breeders the ones that have established lines and have set type. Reading and studying is only one aspect. You have to go out there and do the leg work. Even though the first 3 generations are what really contribute to your pups make-up, that is unless a dog is repeated in the pedigree several times. I prefer going as far as 10.....that you can get an overall understanding of what is in the lines.
