Question Ohh what a tummyache....need fiber add in suggestions

We put Rico on a diet as he is overweight. Well, I made the mistake of putting our very slim Silky Terrier, Ben's dish down for him to eat Saturday. When I came back into the room my DH was sitting there unaware to Rico pigging out. He ate 2 cups of dry kibble. The next day as you probably guessed it, he was very sick. His belly was hard as a rock, and he couldn't hardly stand or walk, became lethargic. I thought he was having liver failure or something horrible (I had a yorkie that passed from liver shunt/failure years ago).

Our vet suggested a infant suppository. We got a little bit but he was still sick the next day and we had to go to the vet. The bad news is that the xrays showed him to be seriously stopped up and bloated . Rico had to have the vet give him enema and sent us home with some lax aire. The good news is that they scanned him/did blood work and the dr said he had a very nice sized liver and great (extensive) blood results. So we found out that his epilepsy is truly just that (he has seizure one every 2-4 months, mild).

Three days later and many trips outside he is now going again. I feel very guilty as I have been a yorkie mommy for 18 years. I should have known better. Never did I think that over eating could be so serious.

He is eating Taste of The Wild due to grain allergies, can I add in pumpkin or something on a daily basis for added fiber? If so how much and how often?
