Children being brough up in an environment and not receiving what you or I perceive as adequate parenting is a different issue altogether.
Yes, I realize what the general thought process is when children don't have a parent their taking a proactive role. While I completely support educating people on the enormity of the problem and working to promote stricter punishments, I don't feel like it is
my responsibility
or right to make those decisions on behalf of other parents, regardless to how much I disagree with their methods.

Yes, you are right, but the problem itself is horrible and reason enough to try to work towards change. Wouldn't you agree? Hasn't that
always been the case? It didn't just now develop into an issue worth addressing because a celebrity got involved, did it? Because if the impact it's having on children with sorry parents in the main issue...then that is just NOW something that can be taken into consideration....
