Most breeds are about 6 months apart, however my girls tended to be more 8-9 months apart. Luckily we live a more enlightened age where people get their dogs fixed. I know it used to be very different over here in England and America, I can remember as a kid when we had a bitch and she came into season you would get hoards of males hanging around the house trying to get in at her. It was terrifing, all it takes is the girl leaving a few spots of urine outside and any loose dog will pick up the scent and track her down. Doesn'y do much for neighbourhood relations either. My neighbour has an uneutered male so we could be in for a niosy time when Rosie comes into heat as he's stuck outdoors in the garden all day long. |
