jmdt, don't worry about being a buzzkill - I thought about that potential problem too! I tested the "mouth" of the tennis ball on my finger, and it really doesn't clamp tightly at all, especially on something as small as a puppy tongue. Try it out for yourself and make your own decision, but I don't worry about Nikko with a popped tennis ball any more than I do with any other toy.
