I took Maddie to "puppy kindergarten" and it was aweful. It might have just been the place that I went though. She is so tiny and the other dogs are so full of energy it was just a bad mix. The trainer did not give any attention to just one dog. Maddie went to 2 puppy classes at that place and then I pulled her out of it. I would definately see if you could sit in on a class or two for free before you decide to do it so you don't waste your money. I just posted in the training session about a trainer that I hired for private lessons in my home. I'll have to let you know how that goes. Maddie is the first dog I have ever had so the training is more for me than for her.
