My daughter had to get orthotics for her shoes - and it took a couple pair to get the right ones unfortunately. Then, she had to wear them at all times, even to get up to go to the bathroom at night - your feet should never touch the floor without being in shoes with the orthotics. She got them at a shoe store that advertized it could cure plantar fascitis. The orthotics the MD gave her did not work. It took about 3 months of constant wearing them to get it under control. Now, she doesn't have to wear them all the time, but does have to wear shoes with very good arch supports.
Good luck, it is very painful. I had it years ago, but got over it by wearing tennis shoes with good arch supports all the time for a couple months.
