My 4 month old boy does well in his crate at night and during the day when I can't watch him constantly. I am usually home during the day but on occasion I have to be gone for 5-6 hours during the day. I have tried putting him in a blocked off area with toys, bed pee pads etc., but he pitches a fit!! Barking, scratching etc., he gets extremely upset. I tried to introduce him slowly, but he still was in a panic. The one time I had to leave him he was shaking and acted terrified when I got him out. He also regressed somewhat with his crate training. Any ideas to help him get more comfortable when I do have to leave him for longer periods?
