My Bella was larger than I thought!
She was 5.7lbs right before her haircut, BUT she fit into the small perfectly. I would definitely recommend the large for longer trips. But Bella loves to get in her bag and has room to comfortably lay down (but not enough room to turn around) for shorter trips. And I love the bag so much, I have even carried it as a purse.
