I always wanted a female and a male. But I was leery because of the marking horror stories. So I decided I would get male and have him neutered at 6 months like I did with my dachsund Frank 20 years ago. He never marked at all. So I got Luigi and brought him to the Vet to set up his neuter at 6 months. But the Vet said he was two small and needed to put on a few pounds. He was 2.1 pounds at this point. Finally at 8 1/2 months he was 5.1 pounds and I brought him in to be neutered. Then they found he only had one dropped testical, and it was posponed for another 2 weeks. In the meantime he started marking anything and everything. Finally got him fixed at 8 1/2 months but marking continues. I now need to rip up my rec room carpet, he pees on the kitchen garbage can, the corner of my stove, on only one chair leg, etc. I ordered belly bands but he just soaks them constantly. I am at wits end. But he is just so cute and I love him so much, Any hints or ideas from anyone.
