One of the great things about a Yorkie is that they can get most of the exercise they need in an apartment - chasing a ball, playing with their toys, etc. Samantha will even take the ball and run all over the apartment before bringing it back if I don't throw it far enough.
Also, Samantha is indoor trained. She normally uses her place in the bathroom. The streets are not safe in Cairo and there are no dog parks. Even the club near where we live is not safe for various reasons. However, Samantha goes to day care one day a week at the kennel where she was trained. She can run and play with other small dogs with constant supervision. She even gets to play with her best friend, Figo, a lab who lives across the street and down one balcony from us, when they are there at the same time.
She is a happy, healthy, six year old bundle of joy who gets along well with both people and other dogs. On the other hand, she firmly believes that one of her purposes in life is to terrorize cats.
