I am finding this quite stressful (the whole bitting my hand and fingers thing). Do all yorkie puppies behave like this? Is it just a puppy phase that she will grow out of ? She sometimes growls and barks at me aswell if i tell her ''no''! I really want to get her used to me grooming her but she just wont let me brush her as she is constantly trying to bite the brush! please help! |
It is a puppy thing, but you just have to work with her. She is just a little baby and doesn't have any manners yet, so you have to teach her =) Let her check out the brush first before you brush her, let her smell it lick it do whatever she wants with it, then brush her a little and when she does good tell her she is a good girl and give her a treat. Do little at a time until she gets use to it...she will just give her time!! Same with the bitting of the hands when she goes to bite you tell her no and then when she ignores you give her a treat and tell her good girl...repeat those steps and she will learn!!
