Hi and Welcome to YorkieTalk! t was a very good decision to join this board and learn before bringing home your new pup! It has helped me immensely with raising my three. You'll hear all kinds of opinions about small yorkies and children. As long as your child is taught to handle the pup with tender loving care, what to do and not to do, and respect the new pet everything will be fine. I have 2 grand daughters ages 3 and 5. The 3 year old Korie loves to put my little 4.5 pound Bella in the baby doll stroller and baby doll crib and play house with her. Bella loves it as much as Korie does. The only thing I would consider when purchasing is finding one that will weigh at least 4.5 to 5 lbs. The smaller ones are sooo fragile and have a tendency to have health issues. You are choosing a wonderful breed and you won't regret it. You'll just want another one....or two! Best of luck to you.
