Dawn works wonders to keep fleas away!! I can vouch for this. I have Bullies outside and we ONLY use Dawn for them for the last 6 years and they have NEVER (Knock on Wood) Had a flea on their bodies.
I would wash the pup again with the DAWN as suggested and BOMB the house.. and wash bedding etc. If you do all this right the first time and follow up with "revolution" (it's only $12 for a monthly dose) then you should be flea free hopefully forever.
For Gucci we use Pet Head shampoo only but he is also on Revolution so he doesn't really need much else.
