The house has had many unexplained weird happenings but i have never seen any ghostly shapes, other then things missing often and then showing up in plain site sometimes weeks, months or even years later. Most events have all happened in the back room, which is a family room now but was told in the olden days it was a summer kitchen. Tv going on and off by its self, one night two of us were watching tv and a bottle tilted and started spinning around then plopped back in standing position and stopped, my yorkie will stand in the door way barking and staring running ahead then backing up, often, thought maybe he saw a mouse, god i hope not, but he does it alot , my maltese never does it, the weirdest of all was years ago at 3 am i was awoken to christmas tune, i new it was coming from below me in the back room, baby was asleep and hubby at work , i called him and he stayed on the phone with me as i headed down stairs, i looked down the hall and sdaw the santa under the tree light flickering , i was a santa that played music and his arm went up and down holding a lantern, as i headed down the hall and entered the room it turned off , i looked around the whole house checked doors, and no one was there, so hung up and went back to bed, next morning when my husband came home (he could hear the music through the phone from the bedroom, he didnt remeber it ever being that loud ) so he went to check the santa to see how it could have came on and how it was so loud, there were no batteries in the santa, we were both pretty freaked at that point. It never happened again. I have been awoken other times over the many years from a loud noise but layed and listened and nothing more. Christmas eve my family was all over and we wewre sitting in the dinning room and in the kitchen by itself the blender started up, this was unusual as most events always happened in the back room, other then things constantly missing and thats everywhere in the house. If i do have a ghost its a friendly ghost
Local history museum, county records, planning and zoning commision, even the library sometimes has history on local homes. When built, owners, additions, etc. Sometimes they even have photos.
