Default Can a litter be registered if Dam is APRI and Sire is AKC

Hi everyone, I have a question. OK, I have a female Yorkie who is registered as APRI. She is in heat and has been in heat for 10 days now. I took her to the vet and had her checked to make sure she was OK and ready to carry babies. Everything came out ok and she's ready. I want to breed her but I don't know anyone who has a male who is APRI registered. My grandpa has a AKC registered small male Yorkie. He wants me to breed them, but after looking into the APRI and the AKC sites. Both Dam and Sire have to registered the same to register the litter. I always thought that as long as the female was registered then the litter can be registered the same as the mother. Any advise or help would be appreciated. Please don't be rude..Im just needing advise not a lecture. Thank You.
