Any update on this pup? Skin issues / allergies can be very tough. You first have to try to find out if it's seasonal, environmental, or food....food is the least likely, btw. There are ways to treat symptoms (or, eliminate the cause, if it's food), but first you kind of have to narrow it down and try to figure out what it is. I would probably get him off the Iams and onto a limited ingred. food for 3 mths -- like Natural Balance Duck/Potato etc. - but, if your current food has flax in it, then I would not recommend Natural Balance (why on earth they put flax in a food meant for allergy dogs is beyond me).
Anyway, there are lots of ways to address itching...but just wanted to see if you're still around...
