Until mine were potty trained , I had them sleeping in their crate in my room, so if they had to potty I was sure to hear them.
I suggest you ask your breeder to rub a blanket on the mommy dog for you before you get your pup and keep that in her crate the first few weeks so she has the sent with her.
I actually got to meet each of my 3 breeders when my pups were just day's old and I took a few baby blankets and left them their for the breeder to get the scent of mom and litter mates and what not. When I brought my pups home I kept the scented blankets in the crate with the new puppy and it worked like a charm! No whining! Maybe you could ask your breeder to do this for you before you bring your li'l girl home.
