The one thing I do have to mention from reading this recipe is (at least from a human nutritional standpoint) that raw spinach when eaten regularly consumed decreases the amount of calcium one would otherwise absorb. The oxalates in spinach combine with the iron in spinach - if you are are going beyond the daily calcium requirements you're ok! If not - then you have a potential problem as the normal amount of calcium won't be absorbed. (If anyone would like some research on this let me know.) Its can also also affect thyroid levels so I would be careful about feeding it daily to any dogs with thyroid issues as well. (Sadly, I know that one all to well - I miss spinach!) |
didn't know that, you can replace the spinich with any other veggie that dogs can eat such as green beans, corn, carrots, ext. maybe change the veggie with every batch too, just to keep the nutrient levels good!?
