I went and talked to a dog food rep at the store I purchased the Calif.Natural, she tells me that it is legal for there to be a certain percentage of hair or bugs in the dog food! OMG!
For humans it is legal for their to be bug matter in lets say cereal.
Soooo why are we paying top dollar for bugs and hair in dog food?
. It's crazy. I was given store credit. I picked out something very similar to CN minus the hair... made by wellness - simple solutions 1 protein, 1 carb. duck and rice, 21% protein, 12% fat. Zander and Jazzie gobbled it up. I also picked up the honest kitchen, Preference formula, it has dehydrated veggies and you just add the meat which can be raw or cooked. I hope to transition this a little later. I am hoping they don't just eat the meat and leave the rest, hmmm.
