Great advice here...I, too, am going through this pecking order thing..lol. Izzy is 2-1/2 and love of my life never thinking of getting a second doggie but then along comes Cosmo who has been with us 3 weeks. Yikes...I took them out to the backyard for neutral territory meet-up. That worked out fine. But she is my dominant one and trying to make sure Cosmo knows it. She is mommy's girl and protector and he just wants to play and chase her. He is 2# bigger than her already but boy does she hold her own (I call her mean girl sometimes). I supervise play and they go at it sometimes bad but I've stepped in a few times only to break it up because I got scared with him biting her legs with his sharp teeth. Each day gets better with them and I have left them alone to decide the pecking order for now. My only issue now is toy possession...Cosmo is so happy-go-lucky and whatever toy he has Izzy wants and that's what we are going through now. Any suggestions on that one??
Oh and I also feed myself first since I am pack leader, Izzy second and then Cosmo.
