Question #1 What is recommended to feed my Yorkie? I've read a lot of horror stories over some types of dog foods and want to feed my girl something healthy.
Question #2 Also how do I prepare for the first few nights with her. I have a baby play pen and wondered would it be a good idea to put her crate, blanket, water bottle and food in the playpen and let her sleep near our bed I want to make her adjustment to our new home as easily as possible.
Question #3 can you tell me some great toys for a puppy to start off with (I have a several already but just wondered some that are really good for a Yorkie and my main concern very safe)
Question #4 I read about bath time to use warm towels or blow dry your Yorkie and also wondered I want to keep my Yorkie with shorter hair would it be best to trim her each week before bath time?
Any advice for me would be appreciated even if its a question I did'nt ask I just want some ideas for her first week home with us to get her adjusted. Thanks!!! |
Hiya!
I'm still a new mommy too but learning alot as I go. People here have been a big help. Just wanted to share alittle on how we handle things.
1. I feed my baby Wellness Puppy because that's the only thing my picky eater will touch and it's good quality.
2. I have an x-pen that I lined up along the wall by my bed. I put her bed on one end and puppy pads on the other. With food and water in between. This worked great for us and still does. the only problem I have now is if it's dark in the room Lacey wont stay in her pen unless she see's me laying down. LOL
3. Can't really recomend any 1 toy. Lacey is a brat and get's new toys all the time. Even daddy comes home with new one's for his babby girl. She's only 17wks now and own's 23 toys. Haha..and plays with every one of them. Bully stick's are great baby sitter's when cooking or cleaning.
4. Can't answer about the trimming thingie because I'm wanting Lacey's to be long. But she get's a bath often with an oatmeal shampoo(about every week or two). And love's the blower dryer to warm up afterwards. Just don't dry her face or she'll try to bite and the air. LOL too cute!
Well this is all we have to share on these topic's but I'm sure you'll get lots more advise. I wish you the best with your new baby. You sound like a great mommy. We can learn together!
