As soon as the pups are starting to walk around which is usually 3 1/2 to 4 weeks old. I just put down the finely ground up dry puppy food at that time and a little bowl of water. The pups will just go over and start licking the dry food. As they get older they will eat more and more of it and mom will slowly dry up.
