This sounds like what my Bichon does. She has seasonal allergies, and will have these "spells" about once or twice a week. She also makes these same noises after she throws up...she has always done this.

I talked to the vet and he said not to worry about it. Since we have been giving her a 1/2 tablet a Clariton, she is much better.

When she throws up...he said that the flap that keeps the air passage sealed, doesn't go back into place fast enough...and then she'll make the noises till she can get it back in place. We just massage her neck and after a few seconds, she if fine. If she has a longer "spell", she is real mopy for a while after...I guess it makes her tired?.

Anyway...I'd have it checked out if it continues or gets worse.

I worry about these girls I think more than my own kids...at least the kids can tell us what is going on and how they feel.
