The shampoo alone is not enough protection against fleas and ticks. But, if you use a grooming spray that has repelling essential oils, this combination works well without needing to go the standard chemical route. I really like Cain & Able Lavender Fresh Between Bath Spritz. I always use this on the girls before we go outside for a meet-up and I've never seen a flea on them!!!!
