I wanted to say that I, too, was on YT about this same issue when Isla was 5 months - 10 months. She seemed fluffier, softer and not as thin a coat as the silkier dogs, however she didn't knot at this point. I would put her in sweaters and everything and she never really had one. That's what confused me. But then this summer everything changed. She turned one in June and about Mayish when it turned nice and she was outside more her hair was like a magnet to sticks, grass, etc. and all of a sudden it was a knot all the way to her skin. What a mess! That's when she had her first grooming appt. It was hard to cut her hair after trying to get it long for all that time!

Judging from your pics, though, your pups hair doesn't seem as fluffy as Isla's was. Try to get a good photo with her looking at the camera with a flash and see if it's green or gold. It should be a good sign either way.
