Nope, swoft and cottony is not the same as wirey. Wirey feels more....stiff, harsh.....

Coat texture is something that can't be learned over night....At some dog shows they do have dog seminars and some conduct lectures on breed specific coat textures......However, as Donna said....you can discuss it till you beat it to death and at times it's subject to interpretation. jAnd coats can be enhanced for the ring. But, eventually you'll know a good coat when you feel it.
