Alfie was the same when we rescued him, June is home all day so she is really the boss, he used to dive between us and growl at first.

It just took a while and a lot of patience with him.

He still growls at me when I go to bed, June has to lift him off my side that he claims most nights lol, then he settles once I am under the covers.

I take him on long walks to the woods and fields, which has got me closer to him, perhaps your BF could take her for a short walk each evening to make the bond.

The treats are a good idea to win her over.
