Some people make the mistake of cutting the Heartguard pill in half, but since it's a chewable, the medication isn't distributed evenly and shouldn't be cut.
You are lucky you don't have to treat for fleas. Here in the Sandhills of North Carolina it is paradise for fleas. We have no choice.
