Gracie is probably going to be tiny - she is pretty small right now but don't forget that that picture has Skeeter in it and he was a giant singleton. I even posted about how much weight he gained in a week after he was born. I was afraid he was going to grow up to compete with beagles. We don't have an official weight on her but the breeder says she thinks she weighs around 4.5 lbs. She does feel lighter that a 5lb bag of sugar. I think she is more skinny than tiny though. We go to the groomer on Friday and I will have her longer hair cut short so it all grows out evenly. Then to the vet on Monday for shots and a check-up. I want her leg X-rayed to. She broke it at the knee when she was just a few months old and has pins in it. I just want to make sure everything is in place and looks OK. I guess it was a really bad break and the surgeon wasn't sure he could fix it but did a remarkable job on such a tiny little knee. I hope this is true. The breeder said that we need to keep her weight down because of that knee.
I am a bit disappointed in the breeder for letting Gracie get into trouble with the fleas - I found 5 on her before and during her flea bath. I would never let a dog get into that shape allergy or not. Wylie's Mom gave me some good suggestions for how to treat it and we may have the itching under control all ready. (Thanks Ann) I dug out a little two piece outfit that Adie had out grown and have Gracie wearing it 24-7 so she can't bite and scratch too. She looks a little goofy in it but it is serving the purpose until the pj's I ordered come in. IT doesn't seem to bother her a bit!
