just so ya know, my granny lives across the street from the hunting lodge so we'd be over there plenty and granny always let auntie's doggie in the house, so she'd be good with us too i think...

i'd basically keep Sadie with us, and not out and about with other people, but yea i think we'll just have to see and maybe wait until she's older before traveling....probably best!!
I would ask the breeder about keeping her. I don't let mine go until at least 12 weeks old to start with. Taking a 10 week old puppy on a trip is probably not the best idea. She is already having to adapt to quite a lot and the trip will just further confuse her and could be potentially dangerous.

I also would not want a puppy that young, not fully vaccinated to get around other dogs. If you do take her, also be very careful of everyone handling her. Not only the germs but the sheer physical wear and tear on their little bodies can be overwhelming. I have seen people do this with small puppies and even human babies. Once everyone has passed them around a few times, they wonder why they are crying and acting so sore the next few days. It is the excessve handling.

You seem very concerned for your little one so I am sure you have already taken most of the ideas in the thread into consideration. But you may not realize how young your baby is since your breeder let her go home so soon. Most do not let toy puppies go to new owners before 12 weeks. It is because they are so much more fragile than the larger dogs and they need a little longer with mom and siblings. Since you are getting her sooner than advised, then you have to treat her more like a preemie and not take her out quite as much or subject her to so many social situations just yet. Like you said, she is going to be a part of your life for the next 12 years and I hope longer. So, you will have plenty of time to take her out and about. You might have to skip a few outings until she is really old enough to be a social bee.

Good luck and I do hope your dad reconsiders once he sees how well behaved your little one is going to be! Many strict men have been won over the first time they actually hold a yorkie! They seem to fall for them harder and faster than we do!
