God bless you all for doing all that work, I so admire watching them in the dog shows. I dearly love my little guy long coat or not but am just hoping it will get close to floor length. Yeah! And as soon as we get that AKC Championship Certificate in our hands, what do we do?, we cut them down.....then on to the next pup.
There's also feeding the coat from the inside out. We do alot of things and each dog is different. We add supplements, special menu for feeding.
When you start wrapping is entirely on the dog and where the length of the coat is.....but, you're right we do start when they are pups, getting them use to it. Usually a couple of wraps at the hips....then add a couple more and a couple more.....by the time their coat really needs to be wrapped, they're pretty use to it. The hardest for them to get use to is their facial furnishings.
