Sadie's going to be about 9-10 weeks at that time if I remember correctly. Since you asked our opinions, if it were me, I'd just stay home and miss this time around. Many won't travel etc., with their pups until they've had all their shots and the excitement would be a lot for a pup. Not to mention the stress of house training in someone else's home. edited to add: Hopefully you'll have years to get your father used to the idea and accepting of the pup. May have more luck once she's housetrained and a well-mannered member of the family.
If you feel you must go then, yes, stay with relatives or in a hotel.
