Maximus is just used to getting his way. I'm not sure why you have to stay in the room? Trace was not a big fan of his crate when he was younger. He trained us to let him sleep in our bed, but he does ride in it to and from work. He got so he screamed the entire ride....uggghh. I learned I was better off ignoring him, because ANY reponse from me....brought the noise on bigger and better, so to speak. Eventually he learned he wasn't getting out for any amount of noise, period. Now he's happy as a clam in there, doesn't protest any way. He's slept in it when we've gone away without a peep....couple of times, he's sleep there instead of OUR bed. He naps in there on his own, in fact.

Also remember Maximus thinks if he screams long enough....he gets out. He doesn't realize that he was quiet for 2 minutes. He's ok, safe, and unharmed....he's just doesn't WANT to be in there. And sometimes you don't get what you want

Good luck and I'm glad I wasn't on that plane
