I hope that she isn't given full run of the house while you are away, this actually makes a dog more nervous, and can lead to trouble. I would use an x-pen, or put her crate in the bathroom, where she can come and go at will. This way you can be fairly certain she won't find cords to chew on. Give her some chewing toys, and many people recommend the toys that you can add kibble to, and they work to get their food.
