Love Older yorkie

Hi Everyone

The yorkie I adopted for my sister is 6 years old. I had her for a couple of weeks before I started training her on a harness and leash.

She comes from a Kennel out in the country where she has been for 6 years and she is not used to cars, noises, people walking by, etc. etc.

I started taking her out for walks to one of our parks here and every time we come to the busy street we have to cross, she panics and freezes. I have been picking her up and carrying her across the street and then putting her down again on the other side where there isn't much traffic and then she is ok again. Is there anything I can do to reassure her and help her with this - it breaks my heart to see her so nervous and my sister will be here on Wednesday to take her home with her.

Also, when I bring her home and then leave her to take my dogs for a walk, she pees on my kitchen floor - I was told she would go in the kitty litter, which I have in the kitchen - but instead, she goes on the floor. I would also appreciate help with this as I have tried everything.

Melissa is such a sweet, sweet, loving little yorkie and I would appreciate any advice and help I can get. I love all dogs especiall Yorkies and I want her to be a happy and healthy dog. I am probably one of the most patient, and kind owner. I have a Yorkie of my own and got her as a puppy and am thinking maybe it is easier to train them from a puppy -
