Toss a treat in. Also make sure the bottom is super fluffy. I put fleece pillowcases on bed pillows and filled the bottom with those (our crate is huge, they share and are already potty trained) If you put a comfy bed in there, they will sleep in it especially when they want privacy or quiet. Mine are always part of the action but if we sit and watch TV they go sleep in there like they would any of the other 5 dog beds
