well i noticed that the brushes in those kits are made for a great dane! not our little guys. So i use an infant toothbrush- much better fit!
go slowly- let him lick the toothbrush- chew on it. Put toothpaste on your finger- let him lick that- try sticking it in his mouth and getting it on his teeth. in a few days try putting toothpaste on the brush and let him lick it and chew on it. (I brush Layla's teeth with her lying on her back... so slowly start getting him used to that) and just slowly start brushing it on his teeth. It might take a bit but he'll tolerate it eventually. Lay still hates it- but she puts up with it long enough for me to get it done- you'll find you will get quite fast at it
