Patience and persistence ...my 8-month old boy wrestles a little less each week. He prefers to chew the toothbrush rather than let me brush with it. I find it works best with him sitting on my lap on the floor. He considers the chicken-flavored toothpaste a treat, so I let him lick the brush a little before I try to brush.
My little guy is more accepting of all grooming, including brushing his teeth, after watching me "torture" myself with hairbrushes, toothbrushes, and wash cloths.
