Same here...My vet told me no exercise until after atleast 10 days (when the stitches came out)...

To ease pain while her stitches were in, I put a heating pad under a blanket on her favorite bed hoping she'd lay on her hip.

Once the stitches were out...Mya fought the exercise also...to make it easier on both of us I did some hydrotherapy on her.

As I didn't have access to a pool, I filled the tub all the way up, lifted her (standing in the tub over her) just so her feet couldn't touch the floor and it was instinct for her to swim. Which makes her use the muscles and move the hip, even if just a little bit.

It also helped the normal exercises too...just make sure to be gentle and I would put my hand on her hip while I was doing it...for some reason I thought putting pressure on her hip would make it less painful.

I also never forced the stretching further than she'd let me go....but just did a bunch of reps.
