both my yorkies were trained by 5 months old. i also have an older mix breed dog that probrably helped me with this.i have to ask do you carry him outside or do you let him walk outside? see i always had mine walk they started to also give me a sign by jumping on the back door.but if your not watching them and they have been giving the sign then they have no choice but to soil the floor.i live in florida so i have the benefit of being able to be outside alot so i constantly showed them outside was for play and soiling and inside is not. took alot of work and consistancy. you have to watch like a hawk and be stern with where they are allowed to soil. they are of coarse so cute and hard to be stern with but you will be happy in the long run. and a rule of thumb always take them out after eating, drinking, playing,sleeping, and grooming. ive also noticed that males take a little longer to train then females thats with any breed. good luck
