(That along with keeping my eye on her every move and catching her in every attempt to have an accident ). She has only had like 10 accidents (I think). She has been so good. I dont even use treats when she goes- I just get really excited and tell her how good she is I think she is getting annoyed at my enthusiasm now she just kind of stares at me now lol... She is like okay mom.. I get it. You can stop freakin out everytime I potty where I am supposed to....
Ok Ill stop rambling So my question is when do you say your pup is potty trained? Like if she doesnt have an accident for ___ amount of days or something??? Is there a magic number that means she will have practically no more accidents for the rest of her life????? When did you consider your baby trained? |
YES!!! Somebody else finally got it...I have been saying exactly what you said is the trick to potty training them...so happy to hear it worked for you. The very first day we brought Winston home...we took him directly outside, and waited for him to potty...gave him so much praise. He learned then and there what he needed to do to get that same reaction from us. I can honestly say, he was potty trained that very first day...he has NEVER had a single accident and he was only 8 weeks old when we got him. Recently he was very ill with bloody diarrhea...still he never messed in the house...I swear he'd explode before he had an indoor accident.
But to answer your question, I'd say if she hasn't had an accident in 30 days...she's trained. The next trick is to get her to let you know when she has to go outside. GOOD LUCK!!!
