We have got 2 yorkies, one is Cleo who is year old, and we have just got our new puppy, Max who is about 10 weeks old. Obviously not for some time, but we would like to breed them at some point and I have a question about generations, etc.

We have a 5 generation pedigree for each dog and Cleo's dad is Max's mum's dad. There are also similarities such as Cleo's dad's dad is Max's dad's dad, etc.

What is the norm for breeding? Could we breed quality pedigrees from these 2 or would that not be advised?
