Not exactally digging.. Rupert is great, and trained except for one thing. When ever I am not home, he tries to dig up the carpet right next to the door, or walls. He has only done this is 2 places so far, but I have started to have to kennel him again, and I hate leaving him cooped up in there while I am at work.
He knows it is wrong, and when I find carpet on the ground he gets scared because he knows hes in trouble. I just dont understand how I am get him to stop doing this, I have done everything I can think of and he still tries to dig up the carpet. I cover the areas he has done it and he will find a new spot.
I also thought maybe his nails were just getting long and he was doing it because of that or something, but I got them trimmed and he still does the same thing.
Everyone around my apartment is real friendly and loves him, so I can only think he is trying to get outside maybe so he can try to be around people, or he is mad I leave so hes being destructive or hes trying to dig out to come find me. I can't have him digging up my carpet though, so if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it.
Thanks! |
