Sadie had the surgery 3.5 weeks ago on both knees and I was a wreck! She stayed in the 24 hour care hospital for 2 nights and if I would have known I would have kept her there one more night. I felt like I was going to do something wrong (i.e. she had stitches no casts and an Elizabethan collar). The first week is the worst but I promise it gets easier! Feel free to PM me with any specific questions but get ready for 6 weeks of recovery. Sadie is not allowed out of a crate unless I am carrying her to the bathroom or she is sitting in my lap. I just transfer the crate from room to room so she is always with me. If you work and can take the first few days off I would recommend doing that for sure! |
