The surgeon should be a Board Cert. Ortho Specialist. This type of surgery can be tricky, and you want to have the best of the best doing it.
Most general Vets do not attempt this, as they know it takes a great deal of experience, knowledge and an artistic touch, as once they open up the leg, surprises can creep up
I am surprise that he is having surgery so fast and no one has gone over the procedure and recovery
