Consider the possibility that you simply misunderstood your vet. It's easy to do under the stress of a vet appointment.
Just look at the logic in the situation. Applying medicine to a clean, dry dog is a
good thing. Washing the medicine off is obviously a
bad thing. Pretty basic.
